Happy Fall Y'All!

Here's what we've been up to so far this October and November!

For Halloween M&M decided to dress as her future profession - a chemist! We made some fun experiments of pink slime and clear small plastic spheres which she soaked in different colors which quickly became  balls of jelly 7 times their original size! I think she had more fun experimenting than dressing up!! 

She has been having fun with her Brownie troop. Here they all are at their Halloween party.

They also went on an overnight camping trip and a Sip and Sing where all the girls from many different troops gathered around a campfire, made smores, drank hot chocolate & sang silly Girl Scout songs. 23 years later I even remembered some of the songs!

We had her 9th birthday at the ice skating rink. She had a blast and skated all afternoon with her friends from school and the swim team!

We had rainbow cake and a "Cotton Candy Concoction" - Sprite and cotton candy. The cotton candy dissolves in the Sprite making it turn fun colors and taste like cotton candy! The kids had fun with it! She originally wanted a science party and couldn't make up her mind between ice skating and science so we compromised with this experiment!

Everyone was really surprised by the rainbow cake! M&M and I saw this cake in Family Fun magazine and decided to try it. I just used two cake mixes and gel food coloring. It was easy and fun! Try it sometime - http://familyfun.go.com/recipes/taste-a-rainbow-cupcakes-842128/

M&M is loving the swim team! Her favorite stroke is freestyle and she's getting ready for her first meet!

And Zoe discovered that Zhu Zhu pets are pretty tasty much to M&M's disappointment! Let's just say this particular Zhu Zhu pet now needs a little wheelchair to get around. Lesson learned - until the next casualty!
